Imbuto Foundation Celebrates 10 Years of Empowering Rwandan Women, Reports KT Press

    KIGALI, RWANDA, July 06, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Imbuto Foundation, a charity organization founded by Rwanda's First Lady Mrs. Jeannette Kagame celebrated ten years of empowering Rwandan women, including young girls. The Foundation had organized a series of events leading up to the anniversary, this Sunday July 5th, 2015.

July 3rd - Imbuto Foundation inaugurated homes built for widows of the 1994 genocide against Tutsis in Rwanda. The new homes are located in Rwabicuma sector, Nyanza district, in Southern Rwanda. The event also coincided with the closing of the three-month mourning period of the genocide, known in Rwanda as "Icyunamo".

July 4th - Imbuto Foundation had organized a football-for-fun game at Amahoro National Stadium in support of Girls Education. The game took place in the afternoon and was followed by the awards ceremony and speeches.

July 5th - Imbuto Foundation celebrated 10 years of promoting girls education at Kigali Independent University - ULK stadium. The event took place in the morning.

In 2001, Protection and Care of Families against HIV/AIDS (PACFA) was established - as a project under the Office of the First Lady - to mobilize resources desperately needed in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
