The United Nations' Global Goals

This year's Global Citizen Festival will take place as the United Nations launches their Global Goals, a plan to fight inequality, protect the planet, and end extreme poverty by 2030. These Goals carry the promise to live a healthy and dignified life, the promise for every child to survive and thrive and the promise of equal rights and opportunity for girls and women. The Global Citizen Festival is an essential part of the plan to achieve the policies and financial commitments shaping the Global Goals for the next 15 years.

Global Citizen Festival priorities

The priorities of the Global Citizen Festival include achieving gender equality, strengthening the Feed the Future Initiative, increasing support for the Global Partnership for Education, calling for an end to polio, making a commitment to global sanitation, and ending financial corruption. To that end, global citizens are called to participate in the Global Citizen Action Journey at www.globalcitizen.org to raise awareness for the six causes the Global Poverty Project identifies as essential to the UN's Global Goals.

For tickets

There are 60,000 tickets available for this free event. Tickets may be obtained by taking the Global Citizen Action Journey to help grow the Global Citizen movement and advocate for the end of extreme poverty by 2030. Participants in the Global Citizen Action Journey will be entered into one of six lotteries which will take place in July, August, and September. Please visit www.globalcitizen.org to participate.
