SAN FRANCISCO, CA, July 29, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- San Francisco dentist, Dr. Ben Amini, announces that he is now offering the use of a high definition intraoral camera to enhance dental exams. The intraoral camera, a pen-like instrument attached to a monitor, gives patients an inside view of their mouth and makes dental exams more comprehensive and interactive. As part of "The Tour" offered by Dr. Ben Amini and Associate dentists at CitiDent, the high definition intraoral camera with a macro lens, guides treatment plans and helps patients choose procedures that improve the appearance and health condition of their teeth and smile.

The addition of the intraoral imaging for checkups at CitiDent improves the experience of patients and supports the quality of treatment they receive. During the course of treatment at CitiDent, patients can work with their dentists to improve their oral health and explore clinical solutions to problems found at routine exams. The intraoral imaging can also reveal areas of the mouth that are more prone to plaque buildup so that patients can concentrate their efforts to that area.

During a new patient examination, Dr. Ben Amini evaluates the head, neck and mouth for problems. In addition to using the intraoral camera during an exam of the teeth and gums, CitiDent dentists screen for signs of oral cancer and orthodontic problems. To evaluate hidden oral tissues, low-radiation digital dental X-rays are used. The jaw joints, and the muscles of the head and neck are also examined. Finally, patients will receive a customized oral hygiene and home care instruction based on risks associated with each individual's oral condition.

"I believe each patient needs to receive a personalized care based on their health risks and each person's individual value in having a healthy body and mind", Says Dr. Amini. Technology allows us to better communicate what we see as professionals and to be able to pass on the information to the patients so they can make an informed decision about their treatment options."
