Entrepreneurial Teens Revitalize Iconic Brand The Balboa Beach Company

The revival of Newport Beach's beloved vintage accessories and apparel destination, The Balboa Beach Company, has been met with overwhelming support from multiple generations who live, work, and vacation in the beach city hotspot.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA, August 13, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Balboa Island is once again home to the internationally recognized brand, The Balboa Beach Company. Originally started in 1979, travelers from across the globe fell in love with the vintage accessory and apparel line which became synonymous with beach city living. Generations of families who traveled to the coastal destination for rest and relaxation along with locals who embodied the surf and swim lifestyle embraced The Balboa Beach Company as a part of the feel-good fabric of their lives. Opening their flagship store on Marine Avenue on Balboa Island, Samantha and Jordan Pratt have spearheaded a movement to bring back the iconic brand with the support of their family. Open seven days a week, offering distinctive apparel and novelty items for all ages with the exclusive Balboa Beach Company trademark, Samantha and Jordan Pratt have launched a crowd funding campaign via Indiegogo to help kick-start the re-birth of this coveted brand.

Meet Samantha and Jordan Pratt:
"Do you remember the good old days when The Balboa Beach Company first opened on Balboa Island? It was before we were born.

We are Sami and Jordan Pratt, and this is our story...

We have been fortunate to grow up living on the beach in Newport Beach, California where we each attend Corona del Mar High/Middle School.

Part of growing up in Newport Beach for most kids is learning about respect for the ocean and living the "beach" lifestyle. We both attended the Newport Beach Junior Life Guard Program where ocean respect was taught and practiced. We enjoy beach activities from surfing, boogie boarding, skim boarding, paddling, diving, tubing, or just hanging out at the beach with friends. The beach is our playground and we love it!

Although we're still in high school, we are entrepreneurial by genetics, as are our parents. Our grandfather owned a pharmacy on Balboa Island in the 1950's and 1960's, while our mom, who runs Crush Clothing on Balboa Island, is a direct descendant of Andrew Carnegie. Our Dad was an executive for several large surf apparel companies as well. They are a part of our support system to help guide us down the path to success. We are also very fortunate to be mentored by several founders of the "California Lifestyle" beachwear industry.

The original Balboa Beach Company was an iconic store on Balboa Island that closed in 2003. We were given an exceptional opportunity to open the next generation of The Balboa Beach Company store on beautiful Balboa Island this Summer. The community is more excited than ever to bring this store back to life which captured the hearts of locals and travelers across the globe in its heyday.

With your help, and the amazing business team behind us, we will also create a world class online web site and sell our fabulous products to loyal consumers from all over the world.

Through our Indiegogo campaign, our goal is to raise $25,000 so we can manufacture more great product to sell in our store and online. Each donation will be recognized with special perks as outlined on our campaign website. A percentage of all donations will be donated to Get Inspired Inc., and Someone Cares Soup Kitchen in Costa Mesa. Regardless if you are able to donate at this time, we'd love help spreading the word about our campaign. If you'd like to share our story and campaign with your social network, please do by sharing this link: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/balboa-beach-company#/story." -Samantha and Jordan Pratt, Next Generation of The Balboa Beach Company
