Why are Google rebranding to Alphabet? Asks McKenzie Holland

Looking at the incredible success Google has had over the past 17 years, sales firm McKenzie Holland explore why the company is rebranding to Alphabet.

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, September 13, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Originally starting out as a simple search engine, 17 years later Google now has its finger in many pies, and has expanded to become much more; buying YouTube, launching Android, and unveiling Maps, all of which now have more than one billion users.

Google feels as though its mission statement, "To organise the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful" no longer makes sense as they now do much more than this. It is clear that their ambitions in health, hardware and drones are too far from their search core to keep under the Google name.

Larry Page, the co-founder of Google who has now become CEO of Alphabet said, "We liked the name Alphabet because it means a collection of letters that represent language, one of humanity's most important innovations, and is the core of how we index with Google search! We also like that it means alpha-bet (Alpha is investment return above benchmark), which we strive for!"

McKenzie Holland has looked into how this will work and how this will affect Google's marketing budgets. The firm have stated that Alphabet is not going to be a big consumer brand, the whole point is that Alphabet companies will have independence and develop their own brands. This means that Alphabet's individual brands - Google, Nest, and XLabs - will all have their own CEOs with their own strategies and marketing budgets.

McKenzie Holland are confident that this move will hugely benefit Google as they will no longer have to work out how to integrate new businesses or acquisitions into a bigger company, allowing them to operate as separate companies and succeed from there. This means that there is less risk involved for Google and they are able to go ahead and push their own ventures further. This will give Google the opportunity to innovate more, trying out new ideas and experimenting with new technology. McKenzie Holland believes that it will be business as usual for Google, but now they will have their own CEO, dedicated to getting the most out of its internet operations. The new focus is likely to generate a large profit for Google, says McKenzie Holland who specialise in marketing campaigns and understand how a re-shuffle and refocus can generate exciting innovation and deliver top results for a firm.
