Use SNS to memorize English words, the launch of 'SNSDIC', an English vocabulary social study platform

"Perfect Study" has launched the social English dictionary app "SNSDIC" following the beta PC version of "SNSDIC ",a social English vocabulary site that combines dictionaries and SNS.

SEOUL, KOREA, October 23, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- "Perfect Study" has launched the social English dictionary app "SNSDIC" following the beta PC version of "SNSDIC (www.snsdic.com)", a social English vocabulary site that combines dictionaries and SNS.

"SNSDIC" App is a foreign language study platform that allows users to study English vocabulary through the making and sharing of own vocabulary cards. The app possesses all the necessary English vocabulary for English education in elementary, middle, and high schools, the national college entrance exam, TOEIC, and TOEFL.

This service is similar to the web encyclopedia Wikipedia, in that users can create their own vocabulary cards. Also, its layout is similar to Pinterest's feed implementation method. What is noticeable is not only the text, but also how the images are arranged in card form, which helps when studying.

The "SNSDIC" application assists in the study of vocabulary through a quiz-type study method. Users can study the vocabulary repeatedly, as Ebbinghaus' Forgetting Curve is applied.

The service's advantage is its reliability. While developing the service, Perfect Study noticed that the reliability of information could run into trouble if users are freely able to modify it, such as in Wikipedia.

In order to solve the disadvantage of a collective intelligence platform, Perfect Study adopted the "register" function, not "edit", when users register words that are already on the site. Instead, the cards that have more "Like" and "Follower" are displayed on the top.

To help in the memorization process, SNSDIC's English vocabulary cards provide images and pronunciation service. Users can choose which words they want to study by using the clipboard function and creating a vocabulary list. Clipping other users' word lists is also possible, which allows for the comparison of vocabulary levels.

Perfect Study CEO Lee Gyo-Cheol said: "We will develop a user participation-focused multilingual dictionary by using existing collective intelligence and expanding SNSDIC dictionary's services."

People can use Perfect Study's beta version SNSDIC for PC on the official website (www.snsdic.com). Users can download the SNSDIC app on Google Play Store.
