Interstate Container at IPPE 2016: Expanding Warehousing & Distribution Across the Southeast

Interstate Container expands warehousing and distribution to support the poultry industry growth. Interstate Container will exhibit at booth #B7647 during the 2016 IPPE at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA on January 26 - 28.

COLUMBIA, SC, January 17, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Interstate Container, coated corrugated packaging manufacturer, has expanded warehousing and distribution across the Southeast to better serve the poultry industry. Exhibiting wax and wax-free poultry boxes at Booth #B7647, Interstate Container will be available to meet with poultry processors during the 2016 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) from January 26 - 28 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Interstate Container supplies coated wax and wax-free boxes through its fully-equipped and integrated network of warehouses. The corrugated manufacturer leverages warehouse proximity to processing plants in order to work hand-in-hand with poultry processors to shift phase by phase to Greencoat wax-free boxes. Currently, Interstate Container produces and ships over 5 million sustainable boxes every month from plants in Columbia, SC and Cambridge, MD.

Pete Bugas, Greencoat Global Director, explains,

"We continue to expand the availability of Greencoat, as the poultry industry throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast increasingly turns to Greencoat as an alternative to wax boxes. Using Greencoat, poultry processors can transition, one phase at a time, to remove those wax boxes entirely from their supply chain without compromising quality. Then their customers, the national retail supermarket chains and restaurant chains, can recycle Greencoat boxes rather than pay to land-fill the wax boxes they currently receive. Both the poultry processor and the end customer win."

Warehousing & Distribution Services

Interstate Container offers poultry processors just in time delivery by expanding its warehousing and distribution network from Cambridge, MD and Wooster, OH to Albertville, AL, Gainesville, GA, Jackson, MS, Lumberton, NC, and West Columbia, SC.

Interstate Container warehouses are equipped with effective inventory management systems, as well as offer additional value-generating services including drop tailors, palletizing, stretch wrapping, and the distribution of adhesives for boxes.

Evolution to Sustainable Packaging

With the poultry industry continuously evolving and growing, Interstate Container helps poultry processors drive the evolution to sustainable packaging and make a change that will positively impact future generations. By transitioning to Greencoat, poultry processors receive high-performing and cost-effective packaging without the carbon footprint.

Greencoat boxes are FBA-certified 100% recyclable and repulpable. Recycling 100 tons of Greencoat boxes saves 1,527 million BTUs and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 312 tons of MTCO2E and 85 tons of MTCE.

Pete Bugas, Greencoat Global Director, explains,

"At Interstate Container, we expanded our distribution and warehousing network across the Southeast, which facilitated the proliferation of Greencoat. As a result, both our and our customers' sustainability scorecards have improved."
