Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Patti A. Gander as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

Patti A. Gander will be featured in the upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015/2016.



    MADISON, AL, January 20, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Patti A. Gander, Training Center Manager at STI Electronics, Inc. and Adjunct Instructor at the University of South Florida and, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Patti A. Gander will be featured in the upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015/2016.

Exiting the US Marines as an Electronics Technician in 1982, Patti A. Gander moved back to upstate New York where she grew up to begin her career in electronics working for Coleco Industries. Working on their assembly line, she eventually worked her way up to becoming a Quality Technician for the video game company. Having since acquiring positions with various other corporations, including Godfrey Engineering, Reflectone, Innovative Technology, Eaton Corporation, Aquacal/Autopilot, EEI Manufacturing Services, and Business Essential Skills Training, Patti is now serving as a Training Center Manager for STI Electronics, Inc., based out of Madison, Alabama.

Residing in Florida, Ms. Gander is working to expand the company's brand, primarily overseeing business development. Also responsible for product development, which includes developing technical and business training programs, she spends a good portion of her day interacting with the manufacturing community and attending focus groups and professional development meetings. When her day at the office is done, she then serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of South Florida, teaching courses in Organizational Assessment for the past two years with previous courses taught in Principle of Management, HR Management, and Strategic Management.

"I have always enjoyed seeing products being built," Ms. Gander said about working in manufacturing her entire career. "The process is like a big jigsaw puzzle and you must find the most efficient and effective way to put it together. Moving into the teaching side of the industry was a natural move for me since I have always approached my job from the perspective of teaching."

She is also active with various organizations, including serving as Director of Training and Education for Surface Mount Technology Association, serving on a STEM advisory board for a local high school in Middleton, and serving as a new member of APICS' local chapter. APIC is a professional association for Operations and Supply Chain Management.

A graduate of the University of South Florida with a BS in Business, Ms. Gander then completed her MBA, followed by her MS in Management. She is also a Certified Production Technician and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
