Students of the Delphi Academy of Boston Beautify Their City for Boston Bloom

This past November, students from the Delphi Academy of Boston helped beautify their city by planting daffodils in Hyde Park as part of the Bostom Bloom and Clean-Up Day project and they are excited to see them bloom this spring.

MILTON, MA, January 25, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Students at the Delphi Academy of Boston are taught the importance of taking care of and having pride for your city. This was shown last November as the elementary student council volunteered their time to plant daffodils in Hyde Park. Through this experience, the students were not only able to learn about gardening practices but also about the amount of work that goes into keeping the city and its parks looking great.

Community service is a key component for every student at the Delphi Academy. During their time at the school, every student is expected to complete a list of practical activities, which could include community service, before they graduate.

For elementary students, these activities are separated into two categories: Field Trips and Projects. Field Trips encourage students to make connections with the outside world and apply what they have observed in the classroom. Projects challenge students to apply themselves and their knowledge to complete tasks such as keeping a budget, participating in a mock trial, or using a telescope to study the moon and planets. All of these activities work together to create a comprehensive learning environment.

The students of the elementary school council are proud of what they were able to do for their city and are excited to see the flowers bloom in Hyde Park this spring. If you would like to volunteer your time to an important cause, contact the local Parks and Recreation department or you can find a list of nonprofits at GreatNonProfits.org.
