MELVILLE, NY, February 20, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Olivia Frazier Kerr, Coordinator and Professor of the Business Office Systems and Support Program at El Centro College, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine (WDM). Kerr, who will be featured in an upcoming 2016 edition of the WDM, has since gained a tremendous amount of recognition across the Dallas, Texas area.

Thanks to a multimedia press release that WDM featured on Kerr, which spoke about her career history and contributions to the field of education, it has since had an amazing response by readers both online and in print. Kerr was picked up by The Texas Metro News with a cover story on her success. Featured on page three of their December 2015 edition, her story was titled El Centro's Finest: Olivia Frazier Kerr Recognized for Service. The story was also printed in the newspaper's iMessenger virtual magazine (www.myimessenger.com) on page 13 in their January 2016 edition, entitled Dedication: Olivia Frazier Kerr Stresses Excellence in Everything She Does!

"Because of the recognition I received from Women of Distinction Magazine, my colleagues and other business professional in the Dallas area are taking notice of me, as well as the program I manage/teach at El Centro College," Kerr stated. "The press release has opened doors in several of international organizations in my field for me by serving on their advisory committees and as a subject matter expert for future research projects. I am gaining more networking opportunities from all over the country! I owe all of these opportunities and exposure to the staff of the Women of Distinction Magazine. For this recognition, I will be eternally grateful."

On Saturday, January 23, 2016, Kerr attended an annual Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Dallas/Fort Worth Joint Founders Luncheon at the Irving Convention where she had the pleasure of participating in an autograph signing of the December 16, 2015 edition of The Texas Metro News where she was featured on the cover. The luncheon was sold out with approximately 1,000 people in attendance. With several prominent guests present, Kerr took pictures with Julianne Malveaux (Economist, Former University President, and frequent guest on 'News One with Roland Martin'), the Honorable John Wiley Price, and The Honorable Toni Rose (Texas House of Representatives). Each of them received autographed copies of Kerr's article, along with approximately 300 other guests.

Kerr began teaching office technology in community colleges in 2002. Teaching at Brookhaven College, El Centro College, North Central College, Central Texas College, Axia College, and Ashford College, she is now serving as Coordinator and Professor of the Business Office Systems and Support Program exclusively at El Centro College in Dallas. She continues to build a great rapport in the business community as well, via networking, inviting business executives to become a part of the Program's advisory committee, and by sharing current trends in the business industry.

A member of International Association of Administration Professionals, International Business Education Association, National Business Education Association, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Kerr is also the recipient of numerous awards, one of which includes being recognized with El Centro College's Circle of Excellence Award for Quality Matters Compliance in 2015.
