Paragon Worldwide Impressed by Tenacity of Local Teen

After a Galway teenager went to great lengths to achieve his business dreams, Paragon Worldwide have praised his actions, and shared why they believe stories such as his highlight the need for better entrepreneurial opportunities in education.

GALWAY, IRELAND, February 25, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With an increasing number of young people becoming disillusioned with academia, A Galway teen recently made headlines for his persistence and commitment to follow his business dream and continue his education outside of the classroom. Conor O'Flaherty from Kinvara has been making YouTube Videos since he was 10 years old, and saw an opportunity to transform his passion into a career, by forming a talent management agency for rising YouTube stars. With his parents initially cautious of Conor leaving school, Conor refused to give up and drafted 6 business presentations and consulted with Galway's business experts in order to gain his parents support and convince them that his idea could work. After getting his parents on side, Conor officially launched his business, Pursue Talent Management agency last September, and secured a EUR5,000 bursary prize at the SCCUL Enterprise Awards.

Paragon Worldwide, an Irish based sales and marketing firm were hugely impressed by Conor's actions and have praised his tenacity and commitment to business. Whilst many would be afraid of taking such a life changing risk, Conor was able to recognise and develop the skills needed to succeed, and create a clear and precise business plan. This feat is made even more impressive when considering schools throughout Ireland are still failing to provide sufficient entrepreneurship education. Whilst business is a common course within secondary education, the subject is vocational and rarely touches upon the realities of starting and growing a business. Paragon Worldwide would like to see a greater focus on entrepreneurship education and believes the subject should be taught at a young age. Their concern is that today's education focuses too heavily on learning in order to pass exams, which is causing those who struggle academically to fall behind their classmates. Entrepreneurship has universal application and teaches practical life skills, which can inspire young people who may not be gifted academically and help them visualise a bright and successful future.
