Barry's long career in the food industry began in 1972 at Calumet Meat Company, a ma and pa operation near the Chicago stockyards. In his first three months at Calumet Meat Co., Barry singlehandedly tripled the company's sales with new wholesale accounts. Having majored in marketing and advertising, he noticed endless opportunities for the small meat and grocery company to garner recognition within the community. Barry was soon named president of Calumet Meat Company, and his first order of business thereafter was to change the name of the company's retail business to Moo & Oink. And thus began the story of a legendary brand, business, and community pillar in Chicago and beyond. For decades, Barry repeatedly returned to what he has since named his "IDEA-WELL," generating wildly creative and distinctly memorable ads and promotional campaigns (such as the Moo & Oink Dance Jingle) which turned Moo & Oink into a great Chicago icon with a permanent place in Chicago's pop-culture history.

From 2004 - 2006, he received several creative advertising awards for radio, TV and print advertising from the National Grocery Association, as well as a prestigious "Best of Show" at the 2004 Convention in Las Vegas. Barry left Moo & Oink in 2006 and established LOVE ME Tenders in 2008, again with the goal of branding wholesome food products so families could enjoy them together while passing around helpings of family values.
