NEW YORK, NY, April 27, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- BestTours.com launch Quest Tours in New York and London

What are Quest Tours?
Quest tours are messaging based tours, so you need to be able to send and receive texts, picture messages, and go online during the tour to participate and complete the quests. You must overcome challenges, solve riddles and enigmas, and find clues around the city that comprise the quest. Curated audio and video content is streamed to your device during the quests, so a pair of headphones is recommended.

The Matrix
The Matrix is a 2 hour quest through downtown Manhattan, on a quest to discover whether you are in a simulation. Solve the mysteries of consciousness, complete challenges to reveal hidden truths, learning about the singular greatness of New York City as your mind is blown. The truth is out there, you can either find it, or continue living a lie. Tour Page

The Hunt for Harry Potter
Harry has been kidnapped, and it's down to you dear Muggle, to find him, before its too late. Voldemort is gathering all the horcruxes together somewhere in London. Using CERN, Voldemort is about to attempt the unthinkable, to hide all the horcruxes, including Harry, in dimensions beyond our own, forever, guaranteeing his invincibility. If any pure bloods, even half bloods, attempt to find Harry, the Dark Lord will sense it immediately and bring forward his plans, so only a muggle can complete this perilous quest. Tour Page Blog

Jack The Ripper Manhunt
Jack The Ripper has stolen H.G Wells' time machine and travelled through time to the present day. Stuck in the past H G Wells is unable to chase Jack The Ripper and recover the time machine, but using similar technology is able to write morse code messages to the present that for some mysterious reason are appearing on your phone. Find the time machine and stop Jack The Ripper from murdering his next victim! Tour Page

What does the future of tours look like?
Famed "Lord of the Rings" director Peter Jackson recently told Wired Magazine that augmented reality technologies like the ones developed by Florida-based Magic Leap will be used "as much as, if not more" than smart phones in ten years.

Ten years is a long time. And while augmented reality tours are going to be an awesome way to experience a city, the technology is no where near ready. So what can we do today? How do we use technology that is here now and available to everyone to evolve tours into something new? What is the one technology that people know how to use, use it regularly, and can be used to rethink how tours are experienced? Messaging.

Quest tours use SMS/MMS messaging technology to send you on an immersive adventure around a city or neighborhood using your mobile device. Using time-based challenges, location-based puzzles, cryptic clues, these quests force you to observe and learn about your surroundings, and look at them through new eyes to solve problems of varying complexity. We augment quest tours with audio and video content to give a richer tour experience where learning and experience is embedded in the design of the tour. Of course that means you'll need a good data connection in the city you're in to take a quest tour, but travellers are much more likely to buy local sim cards to enable cheap data on their travels these days.

One ticket enables a quest tour on one device, which can be used by up to four people. We've priced quest tour tickets the same as a normal tour, so that represents incredible value, saving 75% if four of you use one device. Of course quest tours are best experienced playing in teams to see who completes the quest first, and the more tickets you buy, the more devices you enable, the cheaper the tickets become!

So while we can't wait to develop the first AR tour, you can prebook our quest tours in New York and London today. The quest tours launch on May 20th, and will roll out in cities all over the world later in the year.
