Dynamics GP 2016 Released on May 1st, TMC Prepared to Support New Customers

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 was released last weekend on May 1st in the latest issue of the dominant mid-market ERP software in North America.



The new HTML5 interface eliminates the need for the Silverlight interface for the GP 2016 Dynamics Web Client.

GP 2016 supports the Dynamics GP roadmap that they have laid out for the product, continuing to add on cloud based functionality utilizing their Microsoft Azure platform and deep integration into their Microsoft Office 365 products. Dynamics GP 2016 will be the 9th update of the software and with the billions of dollars Microsoft is investing, you can continue to plan on seeing new minor releases every 6 months and a new major release every 2 years as you have been accustomed to seeing.

Dynamics GP 2016 introduces a new HTML5-based web client and OData services for Power BI which are a few of the 35 plus enhancements to functional features that are included in this latest release. The new HTML5 interface eliminates the need for the Silverlight interface for the GP 2016 Dynamics Web Client. This will help improve performance and navigation via the cloud for Dynamics GP 2016. Which most important of to note is that this new HTML5 client will work across devices like iPads and Android, enabling users to work when they want, how they want, wherever in the world they want! ERP vendors will be deployed the latest Microsoft Dynamics solutions for the companies they're working with.

Here are a few previews of some of the major new features coming out with the latest GP 2016 release:

Current GP users always have a big influence on the new features of each new Dynamics GP release, as they can openly submit suggestions to make the software that much better. Some of the 35 plus new features inside the GP 2016 system that users have helped influence include:

- HTML Web client: Support for Multi-browser (IE, Chrome, Safari, Edge)
- Support for Multi-device (Windows, iPad, Android)
- New controls created for HTML client, UI changes, Window Search, Office "banner"
- Power BI Reports on Home Page: New part on Home page to display Power BI reports for end users when they login to Dynamics GP. Click on the report to take you out to your Power BI site directly from GP
- Web Client Search: Ability to search for a window or report within the GP web client, shows a list of all open windows and reports based on search criteria, shows a list of all windows and reports based on search criteria ability to close all open windows at once
- Sales All-In-One Document View: View all related sales documents for a single transaction in one window. Accessible from customer maintenance, many sales inquiry windows, navigation lists and the home page
- Inventory All-in-One Document View: View quantity in and quantity out transactions for one item in one window. Accessible from Item Maintenance, many item inquiry windows, navigation lists and the home page
- Word templates for Batch Approval workflow emails: Workflow Batch Approvals now have a default Word template for the edit list for General Ledger Batches, Payables Batches and Receivables Batches. These can be emailed to approver for complete information before approving
- Workflow Reassignment Notifications: Email notifications can be sent to the new approver for: 1. Delegation; 2. Escalation; 3. Alternate Approval
- Automatically Batch Deposit Cash Receipts: When Automatically Post Cash Deposits is marked and you post a batch with cash receipts in it, one deposit will be created for all cash receipts in the batch. If you transaction level post, each transaction will create a separate deposit
- Smartlists from Favorites: You can create a new Smartlist from a favorite using Designer. User doesn't have to remove all extra columns from the default Smartlist
- Import/Export Smartlists from Designer: User will be able to export and import Smartlist definitions created with Smartlist Designer from one install to another
