Foolproof Formula to Make Sure Your Child's Camp Care Package Arrives on Time!

Avoid these common mistakes that could make your parcel stamped, "Return to Sender".

Double and triple check that camp address!

FAIRFIELD, CT, June 23, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sending a camp care package is not as easy as it should be. After you've spent time and money gathering and shopping for those special gifts to cheer your summer camper, that box better arrive on time! Follow these tips to make sure your little one gets what is coming to him/her:

1. Make sure the camp allows care packages! It is not unusual for a camp to ban care packages or only allow camp flat packs (what fits in a large USPS envelope). Let those loving grandparents know, too!
2. Respect the camp's restrictions on what can be sent in a care package! Commonly banned items are food, electronics, money, and anything that looks like a weapon (water pistols). Some camps search all incoming parcels for contraband, confiscate offending materials, or toss out the entire box!
3. Plan for an extra day or two for internal delivery. Your package may arrive at the local post office on a Thursday but the camp might not deliver until Friday or Saturday...or after your camper has left!
4. Double check that camp address! Look for the camp's summer address. Also the UPS address could be different from the USPS address. Remember that if the address is a P.O. Box, head to your neighborhood post office!
5. Include your daytime phone number if you order with an online care package company! Sigh. Several orders each day come to us with cut off mailing addresses, incorrect credit card info, or undeliverable addresses. The sooner the company (we certainly hope you use MirthinaBox.com) can reach you to correct the errors, the sooner it can ship out your child's package!

How in the world did I become such an expert on camp care packages? Three kids at camp inspired me to start my own care package business, Mirth in a Box.

Mirth in a Box sells whimsical premade camp care packages. We also allow you to chose from 100's of gifts to make a uniquely yours box using our Build Your Own feature. Happy Trails!
