Inspirational Podcast Tops 500K Downloads

The Inspirational Living podcast is on track to hit a million downloads by September, and is now seeking sponsors to further grow the podcast and its worldwide listener base.

What we really take pleasure in doing is reintroducing the public to inspirational writers and thinkers who have been largely lost to history, but deserve to be heard again.

BANGKOK, THAILAND, June 28, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Living Hour has announced that the Inspirational Living podcast has topped 500,000 total downloads since launching this past December. The twice-weekly podcast, published on Tuesdays & Thursdays, has been compared to the radio work of Earl Nightingale (Our Changing World) and Bill Pearce (Nightsounds). It now ranks among the top 5 self-help podcasts at Podcast Chart, which ranks popular podcasts found at leading aggregators such as iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play.

"We have been very pleased by the positive response we've had to our podcast," says Stephanie Thompson, spokesperson for The Living Hour. "Our goal was to hit a million downloads by the end of the year--which many thought was a fanciful target, since we didn't have established followers to form a listener base. But we were featured on iTunes last December and January, and now we are on target to hit the million download mark in September, several months ahead of our goal."

The Inspirational Living podcast is unique among inspirational, motivational, and self-development podcasts in that it doesn't conduct interviews with contemporary authors and speakers, such as Tony Robbins, Seth Godin, or Eckhart Tolle, but features the inspirational works of writers who were popular in the early 1900s (and before).

At the Inspirational Living podcast, listeners are inspired by readings that have been adapted from a wide and eclectic group of writers. During its first 70 episodes, the podcast has featured works from transcendentalists such as Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau, New Thought writers such as James Allen and Ella Wheeler Wilcox, satirists such as Mark Twain and Oscar Wilde, business-oriented writers such as B.C. Forbes and Napoleon Hill, social activists such as Helen Keller, and the founder of the original Success Magazine, Orison Swett Marden.

"What we really take pleasure in doing is reintroducing the public to inspirational writers and thinkers who have been largely lost to history," says Thompson. "Writers such as Basil King, Elizabeth Towne, William George Jordan, Carl Hilty, and so many more, really deserve to be heard from again, as their work is so inspiring, eloquent, and spiritually refreshing."

To make the work of these classic writers more accessible to the contemporary podcast listener, Inspirational Living edits and adapts the written texts, deleting outdated references which could cause confusion, smoothing out the language, and zeroing in on the main inspirational or motivational message, resulting in a podcast that averages 15 minutes in length.

Now Seeking Sponsorships

The Inspirational Living podcast has to-date been sponsored by the company Book of Zen, makers of inspirational fashion and gifts. But it is now seeking to partner with other companies who wish to sponsor future episodes, as well as past "evergreen" podcasts.

"Our goal is to add additional days to our twice-weekly schedule, so that the podcast can become a daily (Mon-Fri) inspirational podcast," says Thompson. "But to do that we'll need to bring in new sponsors because the podcast (which seems rather simple to create on the surface) is rather time consuming to produce."
