Fresh New Summer Brunch and Dinner Menu Items at Ixcateco Grill

This summer, Ixcateco Grill (3402 W. Montrose, 773-539-5887) is breaking out the season's freshest dishes with traditional Mexican flare.

CHICAGO, IL, July 14, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Chef/Owner Anselmo Ramirez has made some changes to his dinner and brunch menus with summer seasonal enhancements that stand up to Ixcateco Grill's Chicago Magazine "Best New Restaurant" reputation.

New dinner menu items for summer
New dinner appetizers include a summer seasonal rendition of the Ensalada de Betabel ($8), with pumpkin seeds, parsley, green beans, spinach, grape vinegar, pea shoots and sesame seeds, atop a row of vibrant roasted beets; and a tangy Ceviche ($10) with white fish, lime juice, onions, carrots, tomato, serrano pepper, green olives, olive oil, and a touch of cilantro.

Ixcateco's dinner entrees are revamped for the summer. Starting with the Enchiladas Vegetarianas ($15), rolled corn tortillas stuffed with sauteed vegetables, covered in a tomatillo sauce and finished with melted Chihuahua cheese and microgreens over a bed of white rice. Another new favorite is the Camarones ($17). These wood grilled shrimp pack a punch with tesmole, chile ancho, and fingerling potatoes to create a beautifully cohesive dish. The Salmon Frutero ($17) celebrates seasonal fruits to compliment the fish. A wood grilled salmon rests in a pico de gallo sauce, white rice, mango, apple, chamoy sauce, topped with delicate microgreens.

Ixcateco Grill's signature dishes such as the Pollo En Mole Negro ($16) and Carne Asada ($18) are still available.

New items on the brunch menu
Start your Saturdays or Sundays on a sweet note with Ixcateco Grill's new mouthwatering Cornmeal Pancakes ($11) topped with plantains and toasted pecans and accompanied by two sunny side up eggs and Cajeta, a traditional Mexican confection of thickened syrup made with sweetened caramelized goat's milk.

Another great option to satisfy your morning sweet tooth is the Mexican Toast ($11), which takes standard French toast to the next level. Made out of traditional, thick cut slices of Mexican bread, the light and fluffy slices of egg battered toast are topped with Cajeta and seasonal fruit.

Savory brunch items include Enchiladas--choice of vegetarian or chicken carnitas--with eggs, tomatillo sauce, Chihuahua cheese, black beans and topped with micro greens ($13).

Other newcomers to the brunch menu are the Huevos Motulenos ($10.50), a delicious dish featuring fried eggs with black beans, Molcajete sauce, ham, plantains, queso fresco and green beans; and Chilaquiles ($10.50), with tomatillo sauce or Guajillo Nata sauce, sour cream, queso fresco, fried egg and black beans. Fresh squeezed orange juice ($3) and fresh brewed coffee ($2) are always available.

Homemade margarita mixes on weekends
Are you interested in something to add a little kick to your brunch or dinner on weekends? Just bring your own bottle of tequila or other favorite spirit, and let the Ixcateco Grill team pair it with their ever-changing concoction of margarita mixes, made from fresh fruit juices.
