Bonnie He Takes a Comic Turn in "The New Empress" a Jameson First Shot 2016 Winner

    LOS ANGELES, CA, August 02, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bonnie He co-stars in the comedic short "The New Empress" starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and Adam Kulbersh and produced by Kevin Spacey, Dana Brunetti and Carter Swan of Trigger Street Productions. The winning script by Jason Perini was selected as one of three projects to be made into a film as part of 2016 Jameson First Shot international film competition. He plays a guitar playing Chinese cowgirl. On her character's dichotomy: "My character is described as an 'Asian Dolly Parton' complete with a southern twang as I sing and strum the guitar. The purpose of my character is to make you laugh in spite of yourself." The winning films can be viewed on YouTube.

About the Film: "The New Empress" follows the exploits of a couple pretending to be engaged to get free food at restaurants. He was cast after Kevin Spacey's Trigger Street Productions team saw her in the pilot for her web series, "Darla Wang, Dick Whisperer". The director, Jason Perini, echoes the casting choice, "She was perfectly cast. She brought dedication, precision and fun to the role." Perini's script was selected by Trigger Street Productions and Maggie Gyllenhaal to bring his script to life.

Bonnie He: She is represented by Circle of 10 Talent theatrically and by Pantheon Talent commercially. Her primary improv team is Yellow Fever which has performed at almost all the major improv theaters in LA. She is also the creator, writer and star of the hit web series, "Darla Wang, Dick Whisperer".
