I can't think of a better venue than Urbanworld 20 to present initial clips, discuss the filmmaking process and focus on this serious work discrimination issue.

NEW YORK, NY, September 06, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Title VII (#TitleVIIFilm), the premiere narrative feature film of award-winning filmmaker Nicole Franklin, was highly vetted and chosen for a Spotlight presentation slot at the Urbanworld 20th Anniversary Film Festival. Title VII "Clips & Conversation" including the first public clips of the film followed by a panel discussion, will take place on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 5:30pm at AMC Empire 25 (Theatre #12), 234 West 42nd Street near Times Square. This groundbreaking event is open to the public! Tickets are only $16.50. Group sales are also available.

Title VII Film, a presentation of EPIPHANY Inc. and Stuart Films in collaboration with FDUFilm and Co-Produced by Lisa Durden, focuses on same-race discrimination, a prevalent, yet rarely discussed issue in the workplace. This multicultural production, screenplay by Nicole Franklin and Craig T. Williams and adapted from the novel Within The Walls by Daisy M. Jenkins, was shot in just eight days on a micro-budget. The film was staffed by women production professionals, lead by director Nicole Franklin and director of photography Cybel Martin, and assisted by the FDUFilm student crew.

"I am extremely excited that Title VII was chosen for this Spotlight presentation," said Franklin. "Just two months ago, we were shooting the film in New Jersey. I can't think of a better venue than Urbanworld 20 to present initial clips, discuss the filmmaking process and focus on this serious work discrimination issue."

The post-screening panel will include Franklin, members of the cast and crew, and Dr. Jeff Gardere --"America's Psychologist" -- who will provide insight into the psychological effects of #SameRaceDiscrimination. Gardere has been seen on Today, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, as well as CNN and MSNBC.

SYNOPSIS: She's powerful, black and female. But at her firm, blacks need not apply.

The film focuses on the powerful black, female CEO of an IT consulting firm with no black employees, covering a single day. It starts with an incident that reminds the CEO of her "place" in our racially-charged society, details problems with a pending account that could make or break the firm, and includes the appearance of a mystery man determined to turn her life upside down.

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 banned employment discrimination based on sex, race, color and national origin. Yet, discrimination is still part of US corporate culture 52 years later.
