Animal Cruelty Exposure Fund Finds Support At Protest of Live Pigeon Art Show

Animal Rights Group Rallies Supporters to Combat Use of Live Pigeons in Art Exhibit

NEW YORK, NY, September 07, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Animal Cruelty Exposure Fund (ACEF), a non-profit organization that exposes animal cruelty to the public, recently organized a protest in Brooklyn, NY at the Duke Riley "Fly by Night" art exhibit. The controversial exhibit, which uses 2,000 live pigeons, takes place at the Brooklyn Navy Yard and has raised issues about the use of live pigeons.

"Animals are not art exhibits. Living beings should not be treated as objects," declared Nora Constance Marino, Founder of ACEF. She explained, "It is commonly known that pigeons do not see well at night and to coerce them to fly in the dark, which is unnatural to them, can be considered cruel."

ACEF, which formed in 2014, uses mainstream media to expose the public to otherwise hidden animal abuse, that takes place in factory farms, fur farms, puppy mills, and other animal agriculture industries. ACEF has successfully aired two anti-cruelty television commercials and is currently working on additional commercials, billboards, social media posts, and other forms of media exposure.

"Compassion for animals is at the core of what ACEF stands for and is what really unites all of our supporters, in this protest and beyond," declared Marino. "If you couldn't make it the protest in Brooklyn, there are many ways to get involved and help support our mission. Our website lists the projects we are currently working on, and we appreciate any and all support we receive."

The Animal Cruelty Exposure Fund's mission is to promote public awareness and fund educational services regarding animal cruelty issues by using the media such as television, billboards, print ads, the internet, and social media. ACEF also works with other animal rights groups who have conducted investigations resulting in videos, photos, or testimonies and more that helps get this media into the public eye.
