Each subject page will have topic tabs where members can make their own posts pertaining to that topic. Editors watch over these pages making sure that they conform to Healthocrates guidelines and principles. Due to advances in medicine, our articles are never complete. They are continually edited and improved over time, and in general this results in an upward trend of quality, and a growing consensus over a fair and balanced representation of information.

How can I become an editor? The Wikipedia community is largely self-organising, so that anyone may build a reputation as a competent editor and become involved in any role they may choose, subject to peer approval. Individuals often will choose to become involved in specialized tasks, such as reviewing articles at others' request, watching current edits for vandalism, watching newly created articles for quality control purposes, or similar roles. Healthocrates reviews member account activity and at times may invite active members to become Healthocrates Editors. At present around a 75-80% approval rating is considered the requirement for such a role, a standard which tends to ensure a high level of experience, trust and familiarity across a broad front of projects within Healthocrates.

Guidelines for contribution- Anyone can contribute to Healthocrates by clicking on the Edit this page tab in a topic under a subject. We have assembled a list of articles that epitomize the content we wish to present here on Healthocrates and you can view them here at Featured Article. Before beginning to contribute however, you should check out some of these suggestions to writing a good article.

Point the reader to authoritative references (and list them properly), so that facts can be verified.
Avoid statements that will date quickly.
Contributors have different views, perspectives, and backgrounds, sometimes varying widely.
Treating others with respect is key to collaborating effectively in building an accurate online medical reference.
Wikis develop faster when people fix problems, correct grammar, add facts, make sure the language is precise, and so on. We expect everyone to be bold. It's okay.
Do not include copies of primary sources (specifically: text, maps, artworks and other useful images) in Healthocrates.
Stay on topic
Pay attention to spelling

Write material which is true: check your facts. Do not write material that is false. This might require that you verify your alleged facts. This is a crucial part of citing good sources: even if you think you know something, you have to provide references anyway to prove to the reader that the fact is true. Material that seems to naturally stem from sourced claims might not have been actually claimed. In searching for good references to cite, you might even learn something new. Be careful about deleting material that may be factual. If you are inclined to delete something from an entry, first consider checking whether it is true. If material apparently is factual, in other words substantiated and cited, be extra careful about deleting. An encyclopedia is a collection of facts. If another editor provided a fact, there was probably a reason for it that should not be overlooked. So consider each fact provided as potentially precious. Is the context or overall presentation the issue? If the fact does not belong in one particular article, maybe it belongs in another. Examine entries you have worked on subsequent to revision by others. Have facts been omitted or deleted? It may be the case that you failed to provide sufficient substantiation for the facts, or that the facts you incorporated may need a clearer relationship to the entry. Protect your facts, but also be sure that they are presented meaningfully. It is important to realize that in contributing to Healthocrates, users are expected to be civil and neutral, respecting all points of view, and only add verifiable and factual information rather than personal views and opinions.
