CHARLOTTE, NC, September 23, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The re-occurring images and video of African Americans being shot and killed is becoming commonplace on the news and in our social media feeds. With African Americans in outrage and police officers constantly defending what many are feeling is outright murder, how do we bridge the gap between police and the community?
Bobby F. Kimbrough Jr. wrote the book Surviving The Stop: Change The Atmosphere, Change The Outcome to serve as a comprehensive guide to navigating traffic stops and getting out alive. "The side of the road is not the place to defend your rights," said Retired Senior Special Agent Kimbrough. "The dead have no rights." This book is from the perspective of a career law enforcement officer that has conducted traffic stops and has been wrongfully stopped by police as a black man.
Bobby is an internationally recognized security expert, law enforcement analyst, and consultant. His programs, Surviving the Stop and Surviving the Shield, focused on bridging the gap between community and law enforcement, are used by law enforcement divisions, churches and community organizations throughout the country. Since his retirement on July 22nd, 2016, he has done over 30 interviews and commentaries for networks such as Fox News Affiliates. Three core messages during these interviews are: 1) Re-certification for police officers; 2) The side of the road is not the place to demand your rights; 3) The law is not set up for police to be convicted.
Spending over 30 years in local, state and federal law enforcement, Retired Senior Special Agent Kimbrough has made it his mission to change this national narrative with real and open dialogue so that not only do all sides feel heard but we can finally begin to heal this pandemic as a nation. Bobby will be hosting the largest virtual gathering of law enforcement, activists, celebrities and community leaders during the Surviving The Stop Town Hall on October 11th, 2016.
You can purchase the book Surviving The Stop on Amazon or Barnes and Noble. The book is available in paperback and ebook versions. 100 percent of the royalties of this book are going to training programs to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community.
