DES MOINES, IA, October 29, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Trend Vision is LJIC's annual student conference and competition giving students the opportunity to compete in and experience a high energy, real world runway fashion show atmosphere. Students from all eight campuses across Iowa, Nebraska and Illinois participated in a variety of themes and competitions. LJIC's Des Moines (Johnston) campus took home the spirit award, and Britney Cameron Price (LJIC-Des Moines) was named LJIC Trend Vision 2016 Overall Grand Champion.

"Every year I say this was the best Trend Vision year ever but I have to say 2016 has been the BEST best year yet," said Cynthia Becher, president and CEO of LJIC. "The students look forward to Trend Vision all year. They're working to develop a keen eye for fashion trends and nurturing their creative talent. That's what this event is all about, molding young people into skilled professionals. These students are so talented and creative. The judges said all these students did an excellent job. We're proud of them, and I can't wait for next year."

Trend Vision is known for its inspirational speakers, free prize giveaways, high energy atmosphere, and industry VIPs such as representatives from Wella, Pivot Point, Rusk and CND. This year's guest inspirational speakers were Jerry Akers, Eastern Iowa Great Clips franchise owner and Michelle Sacks, Senior Vice President of Education for Great Clips Corporate and LJIC Alumni-Cedar Falls.

"We love hiring LJIC graduates! They graduate with great technical and business skills and are prepared for the salon industry," said Akers.
