Maritime Industry Economic Forecast Breakfast, free Maritime Job Fair, Fishermen of the Year Contest and Businesses from 40 States and 24 Countries Set for Pacific Marine Expo, Nov. 17-19, in Seattle

Pacific Marine Expo, the West Coast's largest commercial fishing and marine trade show for commercial vessel owner and operators, commercial fishermen, boat builders and seafood processors, opens Thursday at the CenturyLink Field Event Center.



Last year was tremendous for Pacific Marine Expo, with more than 500 exhibitors and over 8,500 visitors from 40 states and 24 countries.

    SEATTLE, WA, November 15, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The 49th Annual Pacific Marine Expo, the West Coast's largest commercial fishing and marine trade show, is set for CenturyLink Field Event Center in Seattle from Thursday, Nov. 17, through Saturday, Nov. 20.

The Expo will feature the annual Maritime Industry Economic Forecast Breakfast, free Maritime Job Fair, keynote address by fishing industry leader Bob Desautel, the recording of the popular Seattle Kitchen Radio Show, special events and a comprehensive conference program.

"Last year was tremendous for Pacific Marine Expo, with more than 500 exhibitors and over 8,500 visitors from 40 states and 24 countries," said Denielle Christensen, Pacific Marine Expo event director. "With the continued growth and strength of the fishing and workboat industries, we expect another outstanding year in 2016."

The free Job Fair is expected to attract 30+ companies, government agencies and nonprofit organizations. This is the first ever Job Fair to be held at the Pacific Marine Expo and will be held from 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, Nov. 19. Keynote Speaker

Bob Desautel, co-founder, president, and chief executive officer of Global Seas and Nina Fisheries, will deliver the keynote address on "Fishing into the Future". Desautel will deliver his keynote address from 3:30- 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, on the Main Stage and will cover topics including fishing fleet modernization, operating more efficiently and safely, and best practices to achieve sustainability.

MARKETING SEAFOOD TO THE NEXT GENERATION

The future of the seafood industry lies in the preferences of younger food consumers. Millennials are no longer a rising generation: the older cohort of this generation has reached their late 30s. They are parents, they are buying homes, and are currently commanding a large share of buying power in our economy.
