WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OH, December 14, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Helen L. Kurz, Owner, Pinnacle Dog Sports LLC, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Helen L. Kurz was featured in a 2014 edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine.
Founded in 2013, Owner of Pinnacle Dog Sports LLC Helen L. Kurz opened the doors to her dog training facility with nearly 50 students. Her business did so well that within just one year she had hired five instructors to work alongside her. Kurz's dream of being a successful business owner was well underway. Crediting not only her furry students at the school for her success, but her own two dogs, Piccolo, a Golden Retriever, and Kilo, a Border Collie, which she trained and practiced on extensively, the past near four years in business have been amazing.
"My two dogs have taught me the patience I needed to do this kind of work," Kurz said. "But I am equally humbled and motivated by the many students I have taught over these past few years; they truly keep me going."
Pinnacle Dog Sports LLC teaches 14 classes per week, nine of which are at a Master Level. They also offer the following: Novice Agility; Puppy Foundations; Puppy Class for the Pet Household; Weaving 101: A New Twist on Weave Pole Training; and all levels of obedience.
Initially, Kurz worked with horses, specifically dressage. Dressage is a competitive equestrian sport where the horse and rider expected to perform, from memory, a series of predetermined movements. Kurz trained a total of eight horses during this time, the last of which, Rampal, a Swedish Warmblood, competed from the third level through Intermediate I International Level, together attaining regional and national champions for fourth level dressage in the US where Kurz also earned a bronze and silver medal from the US Dressage Federation. Rampal was also in the Grand Prix and was the regional and national champion for four years in a row.
Making the transition to begin working with canines, Kurz spent 13 years gaining relevant experience prior to forming Pinnacle Dog Sports LLC. Becoming a member of Cleveland All Breed where she spent time on their board and having served as President, she later began competing in the American Kennel Club (AKC), United States Dog Agility Association (USDAA), and the UK Agility International. She also competed in the AKC Nationals, where Kilo placed 4th in 2016, and the USDAA Nationals Cynosport, and placed 12th in the country in the 26'' division with her dog Kilo, who continues to do well at the international level. Piccolo passed in 2014 at the age of 12 but achieved the Highest Agility Award, Master Agility Champion 10 times, is in the Agility Hall of Fame, earned a Top Agility Golden, and also holds a bronze, silver, and gold medal through the AKC. Kurz now owns a new Border Collie, Krush, now two years of age, and is in Excellent Agility of AKC and another superstar in the making.
"I am most grateful for the 10-plus years that I've been working with Jennifer Crank, Owner of IncrediPaws and member of AKC, USDAA, and UKI World Teams for the USA," Kurz noted. "I owe much of my success today to her."
Kurz retired from the Cleveland Clinic in 2015 and now focuses all of her attention exclusively on Pinnacle Dog Sports LLC.
