Rated-R Short Film About a Female Hero in a Dystopian World Reached 100,000 Views Within First Week Online, Now Being Developed into a Feature Film

After releasing the short film online, the film reached 100,000 views within a week. As they started turning heads in the US market, the former CEO of Eyeworks later WarnerBros, producer Poa Stromberg responded by offering them a movie deal.

GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN, January 05, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The proof-of-concept film REDEEM the Beginning has attracted serious attention internationally. It's already the first movie from Sweden to be awarded and nominated in categories such as Female Action Performer of The Year, Best Action Scenes, Best Sci-Fi, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography and many more.

It is added to the slate of Poa's production company UNLIMITED/NEW STORIES, as they are currently developing the short into a feature and there's a big international interest in co-production.

Being the first short film of it's kind from the Scandinavian countries they were turned down for funding but there were many who saw the potential and offered to help out such as Lars von Trier's production company Zentropa.

With a female heroine of this kind, following the footsteps of the character Ellen Ripley from the Alien, where after almost 35 years, stands considered as one of the best female protagonists of all time, they hope to fill a void in the market. The idea came from seeing people starving to see content that spoke to them.

REDEEM is a movie that combines brutal violence with deep life philosophy. The film highlights genocide and gentrification. Inspired by the raw revenge stories from the 70's and 80's and with some elements of the Hunger Games and Mad Max as well as a bit of The Gladiator, but it's all brought together in a unique and exciting way that is poetically violent and brilliantly brutal.

The Swedish duo, Dennis and Moa, are still working together to make the feature film reality. The lead actress, Moa Malan, produced, acted and did her own stuns in REDEEM. She has recently starred in the feature The Giant and done stunt work in Midnightsun the highly praised TV-Series directed by Bjorn Stein and Mans Marlind the directors of Underworld 3.

Dennis Petersen has on top of working with brands such as Volvo and directing fashion commercials and music videos, produced and directed short films.
