Fort Worth Salvage-Yard Entrepreneur Ron Sturgeon to Appear on CNBC's Blue Collar Millionaires

Segment to Air on Wednesday, January 11, at 10 P.M. ET/PT

I am a strong proponent for blue collar careers because of the incredible opportunities they give for people to achieve success." Ron Sturgeon, Ft Worth entrepreneur

FORT WORTH, TX, January 10, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ron Sturgeon's first job was stocking produce at $1.40 an hour. When Ron was 17, his father died and the teen inherited a half-interest in a rusty VW bug and $1500. He also became homeless.

These humble beginnings gave Ron Sturgeon an extraordinary hunger to achieve success. His inheritance started him on the path to becoming a blue-collar millionaire. While still in high school, Ron taught himself enough to keep the VW running and started his first venture: an auto-repair business. When he noticed that he was making more money from selling parts than from turning a wrench, his auto repair business morphed into an auto salvage yard.

Ron grew his yard from a single employee to 5 locations and 150 employees before selling it to Ford Motor Company in the 1990s. A few years later, Ron and a pair of partners purchased Ford's salvage division with 1,000+ employees and 30+ locations in 17 states, GreenLeaf, then returned it to profitability and sold it to a publically traded company.

"I actually got to sell my yard twice," says Sturgeon. Tune in learn Ron's secrets to thriving in an industry not known for producing 7-figure success. The program will air on CNBC following Shark Tank, on Wednesday, January 11, at 10. p.m. across the U.S.

"I am a strong proponent for blue collar careers because of the incredible opportunities they give for people to achieve success," said Sturgeon, who has written 7 books to guide aspiring entrepreneurs, including "Salvaging Millions: How to Salvage Millions from Your Small Business," and is a sought-after business consultant, and developer of Fort Worth commercial real estate.

Sturgeon is hosting a watch party for 150 friends at The Smoke Pit Bar-B-Q, a Fort Worth restaurant where a fun part of Ron's segment was shot. The restaurant, located at 2401 East Belknap in Fort Worth, is well known for its delicious ribs, superb catering, and cold beer.
