"By making this tool available free to personal users of Microsoft Outook, we want to encourage more people to take control of their information and privacy." --Darren Leno, Pres., Encryptomatic LLC
FARGO, ND, January 11, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Encryptomatic LLC today released version two of its popular email encryption add-in for Microsoft Office Outlook, Encryptomatic OpenPGP (ePGP). ePGP uses strong elliptic curve encryption based on the popular OpenPGP protocol to protect email content from snoops and eavesdroppers.
It integrates tightly with the Microsoft Outlook menu system. After the simple initial setup in which new PGP keys are generated or existing PGP keys are imported, ePGP is activated by opening a new email message and selecting the "Encrypt" button.
"In this day and age, we can't take our privacy for granted," said Darren Leno, Encryptomatic LLC President. "By making this tool available free to personal users of Microsoft Outook, we want to encourage more people to take control of their information and privacy."
Sending an encrypted message with Open PGP requires access to the recipient's public key. ePGP can search for keys that have been published to well known PGP key servers, several of which are included in ePGP by default. Public keys may also be imported from the Windows clipboard, and from text files.
Other features of ePGP version 2 include:
PGP signed messages
a single installer package (exe or msi)
reminders to encrypt emails
automatic software updating
remembering passphrases for a period of time (default 5 minutes)
Support for multipart/mime messages
Auto key refresh from key servers
Upload keys to key servers
Custom rules for enforcing encryption and signing policy
Key management and export
Support for strong elliptic curve encryption, 3072 master key, and 4096 sub key
The Windows app is free for personal users, journalists, activists and non-profit organizations. Business users can purchase an annual license with telephone support for $24.99 annually.
Who Uses ePGP?
Encryptomatic OpenPGP is in use by banks, insurance companies, medical professionals, journalists, municipalities, legal professionals, researchers, and privacy conscience individuals.
