Dr. Singh attended Baylor University where he received his Bachelor of Science with a major in biology and minor in philosophy. He then completed graduate school at Baylor and achieved his Master of Clinical Gerontology in 1995. Following this, he received his Master of Public Health with a emphasis on Disease Control at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Singh then began to work in research at Texas Oncology where he was a clinical trial coordinator and researcher after which he attended medical school at Ross University. He completed his residency training in internal medicine at Aultman Hospital where he served as chief medical resident in his final year. He spent one year in academics and was the assistant program director of internal medicine and served as assistant professor of medicine for Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine.

Dr. Singh proceeded to Allegheny General Hospital in 2005 where he completed his fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine, and then completed his critical care fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He returned to Allegheny General Hospital in 2008.
Dr. Singh is boarded by the American College of Internal Medicine, American College of Pulmonary Medicine, American College of Critical Care Medicine, the United Counsel for Neurological Subspecialties, and the Society of Neurological Surgeons Committee on Advanced Subspecialty Training.

Dr. Singh served as the assistant program director for the pulmonary and critical care fellowship program, and later was named Program Director for the fellowship in 2014. He is assistant professor of medicine for Temple University School of Medicine, and is the Director of Lifecare Hospitals (surburban campus) of Pittsburgh. He has conceptualized and developed a Breathing Disorders Center, for which he serves as Director. He has been at the forefront for reduction in hospital admissions, readmissions, and the care for chronic diseases in general.

He is also the clinical lead in the transformation of care for chronic disease, specifically COPD, as part of the Highmark initiative.

He has a strong interest in chronic obstructive lung disease and neuro-critical care. He is active in teaching medical students, residents and has received a number of awards for excellence in teaching.

He recently published an article presented at the American Thoracic Society international conference in 2016 regarding the successful reduction of 30 day inpatient readmissions sustained over 12 months.

He was awarded as "Pittsburgh's Best Doctors" in critical care medicine from 2012-2014, and was elected to Worldwide Who's Who. He is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He was also recently recognized by Worldwide Branding for Excellence in Medicine.

He has an active outpatient and inpatient pulmonary practice through which he sees patients with any breathing disorder.

Dr Singh has most recently been accepted into Carnegie Mellon University for a degree in Master of Medical Management to further his interest in transforming healthcare.
