Los Angeles Thirteen-Year-Old and Classmates' Homework Assignment Becomes Anthem for Global Women's Rights Movement with Song "TO ALL THE LITTLE GIRLS"

Class project surprisingly turns into women's movement anthem in song composed by Los Angeles area teen and performed by music academy classmates ages 8 - 19 featured in music video from SOL-LA Music Academy in Los Angeles, California.

"I like that I was able to do something with all my friends I've been studying music with for a long time. Maybe we can all inspire other girls too." - Isolde Fair, 13-year-old song writer

LOS ANGELES, CA, February 01, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- When Santa Monica, California SOL-LA Music Academy instructor, Mary Ann Cummins, watched Hillary Clinton's concession speech after the presidential election, Ms. Cummins was stirred by her message to girls and decided to assign her students a special project. Students were asked to compose a song based on the Democratic candidate's parting words. One of her students, 13-year-old Isolde Fair, a talented pianist, violinist and singer, fulfilled the assignment and created a song entitled "To All The Little Girls", that deeply moved her teacher. "This song must be shared with everyone, I recalled thinking," said Ms. Cummins. "We needed to develop this beautiful composition even more." SOL-LA Music Academy is one of the foremost non-profit classical music schools in the Los Angeles area with students 8 to 19 years of age.

Ms. Cummins called Isolde's parents who are award-winning composers, music producers and professional musicians. She asked if they would be willing to write a string arrangement for violins, cellos and other instruments so more students at SOL-LA could play to compliment Isolde's piano score. Then, get the kids to record it.

"This was asked of us January 16 and not a small task to achieve," shared Starr Parodi, Isolde's mother. Starr is an accomplished and award-winning pianist and recording artist along with her husband, Jeff Fair. "Jeff and I wanted to support our daughter and loved the message so we said, sure!"

Then Ms. Cummins contacted Terry Sanders, an Academy Award winning documentary film maker to listen to the song. He was greatly moved by Isolde's composition as well and volunteered to shoot a music video of the work. The chorus was sung by students from SOL-LA's Music Theory & String Ensemble class. The final arrangement included 21 girls between 8 - 19 years of age with four female music teachers assisting. "To All the Little Girls" production went swiftly. Recording all the students, shooting and editing were turned around in four days.

"I'm really glad my teacher gave us this assignment. It made me think about the words," Isolde said when asked about the response her song has been receiving on YouTube. "I like that I was able to do something with all my friends I've been studying music with for a long time. Maybe we can all inspire other girls too."

"Isolde's musical interpretation is powerful because she speaks to people's hearts and it is a universally positive message," shared her Dad, Jeff Fair. "Her sincerity can be heard in her voice and the voice of her young classmates. We couldn't be prouder."
