Attorney Thomas C. Bradley Files Lawsuits to Recover Losses Suffered by Municipal Bond Investors

Bank of Oklahoma breached its legal duties and violated federal securities laws

RENO, NV, February 22, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Thomas C. Bradley, an experienced securities attorney, recently filed legal claims to recover the significant monetary losses suffered by municipal bond investors who had invested in municipal bonds underwritten by Christopher Brogdon. Over many years, Mr. Brogdon illegally commingled investor funds and stole monies owed to investors.

The Bank of Oklahoma was the trustee for the Brogdon bonds which means the Bank was required to act as the gatekeeper and notify bond holders about material problems with the bonds. The Bank of Oklahoma failed to act in the best interests of the bond investors and caused many investors to lose their hard-earned savings.

According to the SEC, the Bank of Oklahoma kept Brogdon's wrongful conduct secret for years despite its legal obligation to disclose these facts to bondholders. For years, Brogdon continued to offer and sell new bond offerings, despite Brogdon's inability to pay investors when bonds became due or to pay a project's regular business expenses. The Bank of Oklahoma knew all of these facts, yet continued to act as Trustee on each new Brogdon offering just to make more profits.

Due to its close personal relationship with Brogdon, the Bank of Oklahoma was willing to look the other way and violate its duties as trustee. Thus, innocent investors were led into believing everything was fine with their investments and the Bank of Oklahoma's conduct actively deceived the Brogdon bond investors, thereby causing investors to suffer financial damages.

Following a thorough investigation, the SEC concluded that the Bank of Oklahoma breached its legal duties and violated federal securities laws. The Bank of Oklahoma paid $1.6 million to settle the SEC charges.
