Donna San Miguel To Be Associate Dean of CSUSM at Temecula

    SAN MARCOS, CA, February 27, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Donna San Miguel has been appointed interim associate dean of Extended Learning at California State University San Marcos at Temecula. As associate dean, San Miguel takes the leadership role in program management and development, and she is responsible for building community partnerships and overseeing operations at the university's two satellite campuses in Temecula.

"Donna has served at CSUSM exceptionally in a variety of roles since 2006," says Mike Schroder, dean of Extended Learning and associate vice president of international programs. "With her range of experience and her expertise in education programs that best serve the needs of Southwest Riverside County, we are looking forward to the next era of growth for CSUSM at Temecula."

San Miguel joined CSUSM in October 2006 as a financial aid advisor, where she served as lead advisor, provided training and development, and supervised other advisors, accounting technicians and student employees. Moving to advising and admission coordinator in 2012, she played a lead role in outreach activities and in student guidance and admission decisions. Named associate director of financial aid and scholarships in 2014, San Miguel managed the daily operations and student services functions related to the delivery of more than $100 million in federal, state, private and institutional financial aid. As director of student services at CSUSM at Temecula beginning in 2015, she assisted in community engagement, provided oversight of student services and assessed operations in order to maximize the use of both Temecula campuses.

She is on the board of the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce, on the conference and communication committees for the National Association of Branch Campus Administrators, and education chair with Valley Young Professionals, Temecula Chamber of Commerce. San Miguel holds a Master of Arts in Education from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from Arizona State University.
