/24-7PressRelease/ - Milford, CT, March 13, 2008, Pamela Grace Gilbert-Sugrue, owner and director of Evergreen Counseling Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of substance abuse counseling and therapy.

As the owner and director of Evergreen Counseling Center, Ms. Sugrue is an expert in counseling adolescents and adults with substance abuse and family issues, and conducting individual, couples, group and family therapy sessions. Evergreen Counseling Center is a private counseling practice that provides a wide variety of group and individual therapy programs for various mental health issues, highly-skilled therapists and personalized counseling sessions.

Ms. Sugrue is a co-occurring disorder professional and a licensed drug and alcohol counselor in Connecticut. In 1986, she earned her master's degree in family therapy from Southern Connecticut State University. She received her certification in Gestalt Therapy in 1984. Ms. Sugrue obtained her certification as a substance abuse professional in 2006.


A diplomat for the board of Clinical Forensic Counseling, Ms. Sugrue is a member of the American Counseling Association and the American College of Forensic Counseling. She is a trainer in motivational enhancement therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. In addition she is a Girl and Boy Scout Leader, the program director for the New Haven Juvenile Risk Reduction Center and a professor in the Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Program at Gateway Community College. In 2002, Ms. Sugrue received the Diplomat of Clinical Forensic Counseling Award. She was honored by the Boy Scouts of America in 2003 with the Boy Scout Ella Mirmina Distinguished Service Award and by the Girl Scouts of the USA in 2005 with the Girl Scout Thanks and Appreciation Award. Ms. Sugrue received her first class award from the Girl Scouts as a teenager.
