VIRGINIA BEACH, VA, March 08, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Carole Ramey Melvin has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Renowned for her prowess in academia, Ms. Melvin dedicated her career to helping students grow. After graduating from Regent University with a Master of Education, she became a middle school math teacher at Virginia Beach City Public Schools. As she continued to demonstrate excellence, she rose within the district, transitioning from junior high mathematics teacher to testing coordinator to school improvement specialist. In 1997, Ms. Melvin joined her alma mater, first as an adjunct professor and then as a transition specialist. She retired in 2010.

Outside of her work in the classrooms, Ms. Melvin enjoyed being involved in her community. She was a school representative for the Virginia Beach Education Association, and a facilitator of the School Planning Council through the Virginia Beach School Systems. Further, she was an associate with the National, Virginia and Virginia Beach Education Associations, as well as the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.

As a testament to her hard work and dedication, Ms. Melvin has been celebrated for her work with the Outstanding Math Teacher Award from the Virginia Beach Education Association and the Distinguished Student Award through Regent University. Notably, she has also been named to numerous editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who of American Women.
