Ecoplanet Core Carbon Hires Business Development Manager, Expands Operations

EcoPlanet Core Carbon, subsidiary of Chicago based EcoPlanet Bamboo Group, has hired Adriaan Potgieter as the company's new Business Development Manager, in an expansion of its Eastern Cape operations.

EASTERN CAPE, SOUTH AFRICA, March 12, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- EcoPlanet Core Carbon, subsidiary of Chicago based EcoPlanet Bamboo Group, has hired Adriaan Potgieter as the company's new Business Development Manager, in an expansion of its Eastern Cape operations.

EcoPlanet Bamboo owns and operates South Africa's flagship bamboo plantation, the Kowie Bamboo Farm. Now five years in to its development, the bamboo resource is approaching maturity, with all products to be manufactured on site under a circular economy framework. Mr Potgieter will take the lead on the expansion of EcoPlanet Core Carbon, including the development of new bamboo specific processing technologies and products and the associated commercialization of these products into both South African and export markets, as well as provide an added dimension to the company's expanding research, development and product testing facility, EPB Laboratories.

Mr. Potgieter has a long history of successful entreprenurism and the development of manufacturing companies both in South Africa and internationally. He brings to EcoPlanet Bamboo invaluable experience in the development of supply chains, the penetration of markets for consumer products and the establishment of new businesses under his leadership. Over the past two decades he has converted multiple small businesses into successful franchises including an educational and computer focused business, and a paint factory business, growing the latter rapidly from a single business to a national brand with manufacturing factories across the nation.

"EcoPlanet Core Carbon represents an extension of our bamboo plantations and therefore it is of critical priority for us that this entity continues to meet the same stringent standards of environmental and social performance" says EcoPlanet Bamboo CEO Troy Wiseman. "We are thrilled to have Mr. Potgieter take the lead on the further development of this entity, both in South Africa and across all EcoPlanet Bamboo plantation operations."

EcoPlanet Bamboo's culture is one industrializing bamboo as a deforestation free fiber while contributing to the sustainable development of communities within our areas of operation. The Ndalambe Municipality of the Eastern Cape was chosen in large part due to its high unemployment rate and potential to positively impact development. Outside of his wide professional sphere, Mr. Potgieter is an avid Round Tabler with a long history of giving back to the communities in which he has lived, and will bring this added dimension to EcoPlanet Bamboo.
