Indian Classical Pianist Releases Second Album

Proceeds to go to underprivileged children's education

SAMMAMISH, WA, March 17, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Skyline High School student and Hindustani classical piano player, Ananya Goparaju delivers her second album, "Ananya - Indian Ragas on Piano" in March 2017 at the age of 14. Following on her first album, "Indian Classical Ragas on Piano," the young pianist delivers a rarity in the classical music world; featuring Hindustani music on an instrument that is new to the genre of Indian Classical.

Improvisation is of central importance to Hindustani music and this new album showcases her technique and skills. Her guru, Brandon McIntosh, a disciple of sarod player and Padma Bhushan award winner, Pandit Buddhadev Dasgupta, is featured in the track 'Bhairavi'.

Mentored and trained under Brandon McIntosh, Ananya has won many accolades and established herself as a rising star in the Hindustani Classical world. She's been featured on KBCS Radio in Bellevue, Washington, since the release of her first album at the age of 11. Her performances include a concert at the Hal Holmes Center in Ellensburg, WA, last year, and the opening performance at Pandit Buddhadev Dasgupta concert at the Seattle Raga Institute.

Ananya is passionate about education for underprivileged children, and she donated the proceeds from her first album to Asha for Education, a fully-volunteer run charity with 50+ chapters around the world. The charity's mission is dedicated to initiating socioeconomic change through the education of children. Charity Navigator gives Asha for Education a score of 100 out of 100. Ananya will continue her philanthropic endeavors with this second album. "All children deserve the privilege of education, and it gives me satisfaction to know that I am able to make a positive difference through my albums," said Ananya

"Ananya - Indian Ragas on Piano" is currently available for purchase on CDBaby, iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, and Spotify.
