Bill Easterly & Associates Asks, 'Is Tennessee's School Bus Safety System BUS-ted?'

The Nashville personal injury law firm uses a new interactive feature on its website to examine school bus safety policies and regulations in Tennessee.

Questions are being raised on state and federal levels about whether safety policies and regulations are effective enough or if they need an overhaul.

NASHVILLE, TN, March 24, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Nashville personal injury law firm of Bill Easterly & Associates recently launched an online feature for Tennessee parents who are concerned about their children's safety on school buses.

The informational and interactive feature on the firm's website is called, "BUS-ted: Tennessee's Broken Bus Safety System."

The firm states that it was motivated to develop the feature following a deadly November 2016 school bus crash in Chattanooga.

The Tennessean reports that six elementary school students died in the crash, and 12 more students needed hospitalization. Parents raised concerns before the crash about the 24-year-old driver of the bus, according to the newspaper.

In the aftermath of that accident, the firm states, "Questions are being raised on state and federal levels about whether safety policies and regulations are effective enough or if they need an overhaul."

The firm's new online feature provides parents with information about Tennessee and federal school bus driver requirements as well as state school bus safety requirements. It also provides details from the Tennessee Strategic Highway Safety Plan and links to Tennessee safety initiatives.

Additionally, parents can find answers to questions such as:

- How can I be sure my child will be safe on the bus?
- What can I do if my child gets hurt on the bus?
- What is Tennessee doing to prevent another school bus tragedy?

The site allows parents to report unsafe school bus drivers through an online form . They can also add their names to an online petition that calls for increased school bus safety in Tennessee and across the country.

"You can help send a message to regulators and lawmakers in Nashville and Washington," the firm states. "Let them know that you demand stronger protections for the precious cargo that travels in yellow buses."
