WILMINGTON, NC, March 26, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jerrie Ueberle, founder of "World Academy for the Future of Women", is one of several recipients of the "Ladies Leading a Legacy" award, an initiative of the Sisterhood Extravaganza, a 501c3 non-profit organization that recognizes pioneering women who make a difference in the lives of others by contributing their time and talents to assist women with educational & career opportunities, mentoring them, and leading in a way that inspires other women to reach their full potential.

The award was presented to Ms. Ueberle in March 2017 in Phoenix, AZ, during the 3rd Annual Sisterhood Extravaganza Empowering Women Success Summit that took place in celebration of International Women's Day, an event that recognizes women who are making a difference in the world.

"It is an honor", stated Ms. Ueberle, "to be recognized for the work already done, and I want to share this award with all the highly skilled women in the USA and abroad who are contributing time and talent to making WAFW a progressive program that changes women's lives."

The World Academy for the Future of Women (WAFW), an Arizona based initiative, began on the campus of Sias International University in 2009, in Henan province in rural China. It is a bold and daring leadership program focused on developing young women for leadership roles that address the United Nations' Millennium Development Goals (UN-MDGs) and UN Sustainable Development Goals. WAFW, which grew from a one year curriculum to a multi-level three year curriculum for women is unique in that it also incorporates a "Men's Academy for the Future of Women" - a program that prepares men to support the advancement of women. More information is available at the group's website at https://wafw.org/.

Jerrie Ueberle is the founder of the WAFW and is the CEO of Global Interactions, a non- profit organization created in 1985 after a first trip to China to connect American professionals with their international counterparts to share best practices, research, and technologies that further worldwide communication and understanding. For her work and the results produced by Academy members and the facilitators, mentors, partners, donors, and board members who support these programs, Jerrie has received the World Network of Entrepreneurs Award for Global Community Service, and the Women's International Network Leadership Award from the Women's International Network.
