MUTUAL RESCUE National Movement Partners with PetSmart Charities to Highlight the Life-Saving Bond Between People and Pets

Campaign Flips the Script on "Who Rescues Whom" While Driving Local Pet Adoptions

Mutual Rescue and PetSmart Charities want to build understanding of the important connection between people and pets, and they are calling on millions of human and animal lovers alike to take action.

SAN JOSE, CA, April 06, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) has created a national animal-human welfare movement called Mutual Rescue, challenging us to reimagine how our lives can be transformed when we adopt a homeless pet, while also stepping up efforts to increase adoptions from local animal shelters. Their first film, "Eric & Peety," launched in February, 2016 to viral success, has now been viewed more than 85 million times. Partnering with PetSmart Charities, the leading funder of animal welfare in North America, the group set out to expand the film series with four films to be released in 2017. "Kylie & Liza" launched in February and the next heart-warming release, "Tracy & Jack" arrives on April 5th.

Mutual Rescue and PetSmart Charities want to build understanding of the important connection between people and pets, and they are calling on millions of human and animal lovers alike to take action. As initial steps, Mutual Rescue asks people to:

- Watch and share Mutual Rescue's Tracy & Jack film
- Adopt a pet at a local animal-rescue shelter
- Submit your own Mutual Rescue story and encourage others to do the same

Judges for future Mutual Rescue film consideration include influencers such as Bolt and Keel, Rescue Pets of Instagram, and Nala Cat. Submissions for new Mutual Rescue stories are being accepted from April 5th - June 30th at www.MutualRescue.org.

Mutual Rescue is a national movement designed to illustrate how rescuing animals impacts the lives of humans, often in quite profound ways. You enrich the lives of both people and pets by adopting homeless animals and supporting local shelters and rescue groups. Visit www.MutualRescue.org.
