Pay-O-Matic Joins Forces with The Western Union Foundation to Fund Scholarships for Local Students

Promotes study in fields offering expanding employment opportunities

    SYOSSET, NY, April 10, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pay-O-Matic, New York's largest and most convenient check casher, has teamed up with The Western Union Foundation to present scholarships to students in the community. The WU+Pay-O-Matic Scholars Program provides $2,500 scholarships to students pursuing college/university degrees related to science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or business/entrepreneurship.

Pay-O-Matic is contributing two $2,500 scholarships, and The Western Union Foundation is matching the donation dollar-for-dollar, for a total of four $2,500 scholarships.

"These scholarships will be presented to promising students nominated by our customers," said Jay Guskind, President and CEO of Pay-O-Matic. "We're very pleased to make an investment in the successful future of students from our community."

The WU+Pay-O-Matic Scholars Program promotes study in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields and business/entrepreneurship because young people who pursue careers in these fields are often able to improve their employment opportunities and earning potential over time.
