Yahoo! Employee Foundation Gives Parting Gift to Nationally Renowned Animal-Welfare Group Humane Society Silicon Valley

HSSV receives unrestricted gift of funding from the Yahoo! Employee Foundation

We are tremendously grateful for the generosity of the Yahoo! Employee Foundation," says HSSV President, Carol Novello.

SAN JOSE, CA, July 21, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Acclaimed animal-welfare organization Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) has received a significant funding award from the Yahoo Employee Foundation. The award is a tremendous final gift from the Foundation, which is being dissolved as a result of Verizon's purchase of Yahoo!.

HSSV plans to use the unrestricted funds to further their Paint a Better Future campaign for animals in need. The $55M campaign is in its final six months and its mission is to sustain and expand programs that:

- Prevent Unwanted Births: Reducing the number of incoming animals allows shelters to save more lives across a broader community.
- Treat & Rehabilitate: HSSV is committed to the care of Silicon Valley's most at-risk pet populations.
- Find Homes: HSSV connects thousands of animals to thousands of people, enriching the lives of both.
- Keep Pets In Homes: HSSV provides resources to help keep animals with their loving families.
- Educate: HSSV's education programs teach animal care, humane advocacy and compassion for all living beings.

The Yahoo! Employee Foundation has supported HSSV over the past several years, contributing funds to programs such a Regional Rescue and Portia's Targeted Spay/Neuter Program. "We are tremendously grateful for the generosity of the Yahoo! Employee Foundation," says HSSV President, Carol Novello. "This gift has deeply touched the hearts of our employees and volunteers, and will have a significant impact on the many animal lives it will save."
