His professional affiliations include the American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, the American Heart Association, and the British Pharmacological Society. Throughout his career, he has achieved much; he holds a plethora of patents in the field from antidotes to cocaine toxicity to immunoglobulin and plasmatic protein properties. He developed the use of nanotechnology surface treatment in medical devices and was a pioneer in micro and macro blood flow measurements.

In addition to his influence and accomplishments in his industry, he has lent his expertise to a number of creative works, including "Toxicomanies" and the New England Journal of Medicine.
