Jar Goods Launches New Products in Tandem with its Kickoff #GiveBackWithJarGoods Partnership with Heifer International

Chobani Incubator alumnus announces Beet + Basil Pesto and Vegan Vodka-Style Tomato Sauce and Heifer International partnership to help mothers in need

GLEN ROCK, NJ, March 22, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jar Goods, an emerging brand of ready-to-cook pantry staples and alumnus of the inaugural class of the Chobani Food Incubator, announced today that it will launch two new products in April 2018. The two new products – Beet + Basil Pesto and Vegan Vodka-Style Tomato Sauce will join the company's line of three premium tomato sauces currently on-shelf in over 1,100 retail outlets nationally.

"Jar Goods' existing and new products are a welcome fresh take in the stagnant pasta sauce category," explains Jar Goods co-founder, Melissa Vitelli. "While other brands are focused on a celebrity chef, or grandma's old recipe, or a founder's favorite ingredients, Jar Goods is focused on helping people get dinner on the table easier, faster, and happier with products that are more delicious, more versatile and completely clean label."

The new products will begin shipping on April 15th to major distributors and retailers nationwide.

In tandem with their new product launch, Jar Goods has also announced its partnership with Heifer International. Heifer works with communities to create income opportunities, empower women, care for the earth, and ultimately end world hunger and poverty. Manifesting the partnership on social media, Jar Goods will donate a laying hen to a mother in need in a developing country for every recipe using Jar Goods posted using #givebackwithjargoods. Jar Goods will also send a girl to school for every 300 selfies featuring Jar Goods posted on social media. In April, the sponsorship will also manifest itself on Jar Goods coupons, and they will donate a chick to a mother in need for every redemption.

"The credo that drives our brand is joy in a jar, and our goal is to spread that joy far and wide. We are excited to marry our brand and marketing with a social mission, and in Heifer International we found the perfect partner. The opportunity to give back and help mothers in need in developing countries is truly energizing," says Vitelli. "We see a great opportunity to create conversation and gratitude around how lucky we are to choose our lifestyle, plant-based or not, and promote respect for and benefit those who do not have a choice, but who still farm sustainably and raise livestock humanely."

Dubbed "Joy in a Jar," Jar Goods comes courtesy of sisters-in-law and busy moms, Melissa Vitelli and Laura Vitelli Roth. In 2014, using an initial investment of $150, Melissa and Laura began bottling Pa Vitelli's tomato sauce, branding it Classic Red and selling it at farmer's markets and street fairs. Following months of labor-intensive sauce preparation, Jar Goods found a co-packer and worked its way onto store shelves. Following its signature Classic Red sauce, Jar Goods expanded its offerings to include Classic Spicy and Classic Vodka sauces in September, 2015. In 2016, it was one of six natural food brands chosen to participate in the Chobani Food Incubator, an initiative designed to help emerging brands and entrepreneurs bring better food to more people. In 2017, Jar Goods sales were up 127% over 2016, and, not even a quarter into 2018, Jar Goods sales have eclipsed 2017 by 63%.
