Retired trial attorney Mr. Geiman played an instrumental role at Peterson and Ross in Chicago for many years. Acting as of counsel beginning in 1996 and former partner from 1966 to 1996, the 111 year old firm employed approximately 175 attorneys across five offices, primarily focusing on insurance defense, with the remainder on corporate, real estate, tax, intellectual property and labor matters. Prior to working for Peterson and Ross, Mr. Geiman was partner at Peterson, Lowry, Rall, Barber & Ross and associate for Eckert, Peterson & Lowry in Chicago.
Originally earning his undergraduate degree at Northwestern University in 1953 and Doctor of Jurisprudence at Notre Dame University in 1956, Mr. Geiman was then admitted to the Illinois Bar, the Federal District Court, the Seventh Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States. While pursuing his JD, he spent time as the case editor of the Notre Dame Law Review. He also served as a member of the committee on civil jury instructions for the Illinois Supreme Court between 1979 and 1981.
For 23 years, Mr. Geiman was a member of the board of advisors for the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago. He also served in numerous capacities for several professional organizations throughout his career, including as secretary and board of governors for the Illinois State Bar Association, on the aviation law committee for the Chicago Bar Association, and on the board of advisors for the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Chicago. He is a fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, the American College of Trial Lawyers and the Illinois Bar Foundation, and a past President (1973) of the Chicago Athletic Association.
Following in the footsteps of his father, who was also an attorney, and his uncle, Robert E. Crowe, who was most known as the state's attorney who prosecuted the Leopold and Loeb murder case against Clarence Darrow in 1924, Mr. Geiman is proud to have been given the opportunity to serve for so many years. Notably, he has been featured in nearly every edition of Who's Who in America since 1990, as well as many editions of Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in the South and Southwest and Who's Who in the World.
