    INDIANAPOLIS, IN, July 06, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Katherine Mandusic Finley, Ph.D., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Finley celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. With 40 years of industry experience to her credit and certified as an association executive, fundraising executive, and meeting planner, Dr. Finley has worked as the executive director for the Organization of American Historians since 2010. Prior to this appointment, she held the positions of executive director for the Real Estate Investment Securities Association from 2006 to 2010, director of the American College of Sports Medicine Foundation from 2005 to 2006, adjunct faculty member of philanthropic studies for Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis from 2001 to 2005, and executive director for Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action from 2000 to 2005. Previously, she served as the executive director for Roller Skating Association International from 1993 to 2000, assistant director of communications and marketing at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy for IUPUI from 1991 to 1993, and both executive director/curator for the Indiana Medical History Museum and medical history research historian for the Indiana Historical Society (a joint appointment) from 1982 to 1991. Dr. Finley began her career in nonprofits as a researcher at Conner Prairie from 1978 to 1982.

Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Finley pursued an education at Ohio Wesleyan University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in history in 1977. She continued her academic efforts with a Master of Arts in history and museum studies at Case Western Reserve University in 1978. Following these accomplishments, she obtained a Master of Business Administration in marketing at Indiana University in 1989. Dr. Finley concluded her studies at the Union Institute and University in 2007, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy. As a student, Dr. Finley was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, Sigma Iota Epsilon and Beta Gamma Sigma.

Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Dr. Finley has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She has contributed to Altrusa International of Indianapolis, Inc. since 1992, as chairman of the local club's service committee from 2001 to 2003, treasurer from 1998 to 1999, and president from 1995 to 1997, and was recently elected president again. She held the role of board director for the National Museum of Roller Skating from 1994 to 2000. She has found success with her written works as well, having authored The Journals of William A. Lindsay in 1989, as well as many articles for publications such as Caduceus, The Indiana Medical History Quarterly, Association Management, Associations Now Premium, Journal of Association Leadership, and the ISAE Blog. A contributing editor for The Encyclopedia of Indianapolis in 1994, Dr. Finley most recently penned Is There Tuna in Heaven? The Story of Clio: A One-Eyed, Three-Legged Cat Who Healed My Wounded Soul in 2018, which can be found on Amazon.com.

In addition to her primary trade, Dr. Finley remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She has maintained involvement with Toastmasters International for two decades, holding such posts in her local club as vice president of public relations in 2000, vice president of education from 1998 to 2002 and from 2006 to 2007, vice president and secretary from 2008 to 2009, vice president of membership from 2015 to 2017, and president from 2010 to 2011 and 2017 to 2018. She also served as Area 18 Toastmaster governor from 2001 to 2002 and Area 52 Toastmaster governor from 2010 to 2011. She attained the designation of Distinguished Toastmaster in 2002, which is the highest designation offered by Toastmasters. Dr. Finley was also active with the Indiana chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, for which she served on their board of directors from 2003 to 2009.She currently serves on the Indiana Society of Association Executives board of directors.

She was also on the ethics committee for the American Society of Association Executives from 2004 to 2006, from 2008 to 2010, and again since 2017. She is certified in association management (CAE), fundraising (CFRE), and meeting planning (CMP). In light of her exceptional undertakings, Dr. Finley has accrued several accolades throughout her impressive career. She was recognized as Association Executive of the Year by the Indiana Society of Association Executives (ISAE) in 2002. She has also been presented with seven STAR Awards from ISAE for her work with several associated institutions. Likewise, Dr. Finley was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who of American Women.
