With nearly 50 years of industry experience to her credit, Ms. Snyder is currently retired, having most recently worked as a neuroscience, trauma and medical surgery nurse at the Akron City Hospital from 1989 to 2014. Prior to this appointment, she held the position of cardiovascular nurse for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation from 1972 to 1978. Ms. Snyder began her career as an emergency room nurse for the Parma Community Hospital from 1965 to 1966, and as a medical transcriptionist for the radiology department at Cleveland Clinic Foundation from 1966-1969. From 1969 to 1971, she worked at Grace Hospital, in Cleveland, in Medical-Surgical Obstetrics and Pediatrics. She also worked in a nursing home from 1971 until 1972.

Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Snyder pursued an education at the Lakewood School of Practical Nursing, earning a Diploma in 1965. She concluded her studies at the University of Akron in 1989, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Following these accomplishments, Ms. Snyder found much success with her volunteer work as well, having greatly supported the "Just Say No" program.

Beyond her responsibilities within the field, Ms. Snyder has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She has contributed to the Summa Health System in many capacities, including as acting member, correspondence secretary, and president of the Summa Nursing Senate. Ms. Snyder has also excelled as a firefighter and EMT with the Chatham Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association. As a child, she volunteered a great deal through Little Sisters of the Poor, which laid the groundwork for her to begin working in the service of others.

In addition to her primary trade, Ms. Snyder remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She has maintained involvement with the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses as president and regional director-elect since 2002, having formerly served on their board of directors, on their executive board of directors, and as president-elect from 2001 to 2002. Furthermore, she was active as a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Snyder was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who Among Human Services Professionals, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Nursing, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the Midwest, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
