Janet LaDage-Hardine Celebrates 30 Years of Professional Excellence

Ms. LaDage-Hardine received a Distinguished Service Award from Carl Sandberg College



Janet LaDage-Hardine was honored with the Outstanding Faculty Member Award by Carl Sandberg College and the Illinois Trustees Association in 1992.

    GALESBURG, IL, September 20, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Janet LaDage-Hardine has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. LaDage-Hardine has held various positions at Carl Sandberg College in Galesburg, IL in a professional career spanning over three decades. She began working there as an instructor in 1974 and made her way up the ranks until she was able to retire as a full professor in 2008. During this time, she was also the chair of the business division from 1987 to 1997 and the coordinator of business programs from 2005 to 2008. She helped students get jobs in the community and at Carl Sandburg College. The two students she feels the closest to and that she helped the most are Patty Klapp and Mary Buckingham, who were her shining stars. She had so many incredible students, and some of them became incredible friends. She was also on the Committee for Local Improvements for the City of Galesburg from 1990 to 1995.

Ms. LaDage-Hardine always wanted to be a teacher. She grew up on a farm in Illinois and she would play in her toy room with all her little dolls and stuffed animals, and they would be her students. Her mother, Crystal, was a teacher, and she continued on where her mother left off. She was a student attending Black Hawk College in Moline, Illinois in 1969. She went on to attend Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL, where she obtained a Bachelor of Education in 1971 and later a Master of Education in 1974. Throughout her career, she would also become a member of associations related to her field such as the National Education Association, the Illinois Education Association, and the State Universities Annuitants Association.

Ms. LaDage-Hardine was honored with the Outstanding Faculty Member Award by Carl Sandberg College and the Illinois Trustees Association in 1992. Over a decade later, she was honored by Carl Sandberg College once again with the Distinguished Service Award in 2008. She is listed in the eighth edition of Who's Who in American Education, the 24th edition of Who's Who in the Midwest, and three editions of Who's Who of American Women.
