With nearly 50 years of professional experience, Dr. Norman is the laboratory director of Amin Family Practice Associates PSC, having held the same position with Associated Pain Medicine, Cornerstone Project LLC, and Life Spring Recovery since 2017 and Lexar Laboratory & Analysis LLC since 2015. He has also been the president and chief executive officer of Norman Clinical Laboratory, Inc., since 1985, and he was the laboratory director of DNA Testing Services, Inc., from 1998 to 2005 and the Molecular Diagnostic Research Center, Inc., from 1997 to 1999. From 1992 to 1993, he was the director of analytical research at the Monarch Foundation, and he was an assistant professor at the University of Cincinnati from 1981 to 1992, having been an instructor from 1978 to 1981.

Dr. Norman began his career as a student at the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy now known as Missouri University of Science and Technology, receiving a Bachelor of Science in physics in 1964. He subsequently served with the United States Army from 1964 to 1969 and 6 months on active duty during 1990-1991. He completed a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 1970. He subsequently joined Texas A&M University as a teacher and research assistant from 1970 to 1977, earning a Master of Science in biochemistry in 1972 and a Doctor of Philosophy in biochemistry in 1977 with the school. Dr. Norman continued to serve with the United States Army Reserve from 1975 to 1997.

A respected leader in his community, Dr. Norman has been affiliated with a number of organizations in his areas of interest. He is a member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society for Mass Spectrometry and Sigma Xi. He is a deacon of the First Baptist Church of Mount Healthy, and he has been a board member of Youth for All Nations, the Creation Research Science Education Foundation, Inc., and the Macedonian Children's Outreach Project, Jinja, Uganda. Likewise, he was a committee member of the Boy Scouts of America. A patentee in the field, Dr. Norman has contributed articles to professional journals and been a speaker at several conferences.

Throughout his career, Dr. Norman has been recognized for his achievements, having received a Bronze Star and a Legion of Merit for his contributions to the military. He was also inducted to the University City High School, Missouri Hall of Fame in 2009 and recognized as Marquis Who's Who Top Scientist. He has been featured in numerous honors publications, including Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the Midwest.
