Paul Shaffer Joins Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra for World-Premiere Concert

Former Letterman Show bandleader headlines first 2018-19 Zhang Financial Pops! Series program



Paul Shaffer, former Letterman Show band leader, will share symphonic renditions of his favorite pop, R&B, and jazz tunes, taking audience members on a fascinating journey

    KALAMAZOO, MI, October 26, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Performing hits like "It's Raining Men," "A Day in the Life," and "River Deep, Mountain High," former David Letterman bandleader Paul Shaffer joins the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra to bring his world-premiere symphonic concert to Kalamazoo on Saturday, Nov. 3. Valerie Simpson ("I'm Every Woman," "Ain't No Mountain High Enough") will appear as a special guest as Shaffer shares symphonic renditions of his favorite pop, R&B, and jazz tunes, taking audience members on a fascinating journey with his stories, reminiscences, and anecdotes. Guest conductor J. Ernest Green will conduct the orchestra. Tickets for this first concert in the KSO's 2018-19 Zhang Financial Pops! Series are available through the Miller ticket office or at KalamazooSymphony.com.

It's Student Night! Plus, Concert Schedule and Ticket Details
The Zhang Financial Pops! Series concert begins at 8 p.m. Ticket prices start at $24 and may be purchased online through the KSO's box office, or by calling the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office at 269.387.2300.

The Paul Shaffer concert is Student Night at the KSO! On the night of the concert, Nov. 3, any student with a valid student ID may receive one free ticket per student to the Paul Shaffer concert. Interested students should come in person to the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office on the night of the concert and show their valid student ID to receive their ticket. Phone and online orders do not qualify for the promotion.
