Recognized as a regents' professor emeritus in 2002, Dr. Price previously taught at Northern Arizona University for 22 years. Hired by Northern Arizona University as an associate professor in 1980, he later held the positions of professor of ecology and regents' professor with a concentration on insect ecology, entomology and biological evolution. Furthermore, Dr. Price excelled as research ecologist with the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff.

Likewise, Dr. Price also found success in the department of entomology at the University of Illinois, where he conducted research and developed with his students the study of three-trophic-level interactions between plants, insect herbivores and natural enemies. Earlier in his career, Dr. Price was a research officer for the Canadian Forest Service, working on sawfly and parasitoid interactions, which became the basis for his doctoral thesis several years later.

Dr. Price is the author of numerous publications, including "Macroevolutionary Theory on Macroecological Patterns" in 2003. He also co-authored "Insect Ecology: Behavior, Populations and Communities," with its fourth edition released in 2011. He has edited numerous works as well, including "Population Dynamics: New Approaches and Synthesis" in 1995, "Effects of Resource Distribution on Plant-Animal Interactions" in 1992 and "Evolutionary Strategies of Parasitic Insects" in 1975. Furthermore, Dr. Price has contributed more than 200 articles for peer reviewed journals and has been cited in professional publications more than 1,250 times.

Enjoying the many rewards of working in academia, Dr. Price had the opportunity to travel around the world and meet many inspiring like-minded professionals. He was active with several professional organizations relative to his work, notably serving on the board of editors of the Ecological Society of America and as a two-time panel member of the National Science Foundation. An elected fellow of the American Entomological Society, he is a longtime member of the Entomological Society of America, having received a Founder's Award in 1993.

Earning an undergraduate degree with honors at the University of Wales in Bangor in 1962, Dr. Price studied forestry and entomology. He then completed a Master's degree at the University of New Brunswick in 1964, where he studied forest entomology and completed his thesis on bark beetles on spruces. Finally, in 1970, he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy at Cornell University. Prior to his studies, he completed two years of service in the Royal Air Force as a trained radar technician working in an operational station in Germany.

Dr. Price was recognized as a Fulbright senior scholar between 1993 and 1994. Prior to this honor, he accepted a Guggenheim fellowship, which he completed between 1977 and 1978. Dr. Price has been featured in over 40 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in the West.
